Western Nebraska is filled with beautiful landscapes perfect for photographers of all skill levels. Right in the backyard of Down Home there's plenty to see and take pictures of. With over 900 acres at your doorstep, finding wildlife to view or photograph is as simple as taking a walk. There's everything from birds to old buildings and sunsets to sunflowers. There's something for everyone down here on the ranch. We invite you to tag along with us during our daily chores and take photos of our wonderful ranch. Travel by foot, horse, atv or truck, but however you get around you will want to pack your camera. You will create memories that you will always cherish and want to look back at and smile. | This is definitely not a dude ranch! You will not find a single file line of horses slowly making their way up a trail here. Bring your own horse or atv and experience the freedom to go wherever you want. Explore the entire ranch! Take a picnic lunch and head out West. We will give you a detailed map of the property outlining all of the trails and suggest places to check out depending on the time of year and your interests. It is nice to enjoy the quiet pleasures of sitting on the front porch of Down Home, but you will find it irresistible not to get out and take a look around. Whether you're hiking on foot, riding your horse or cruising around on your ATV, you will find that nothing beats life down on the ranch! |

If you've lived your whole life in the city then you've never seen a night sky like this! Billions upon billions of stars are out for your viewing pleasure. Bring your telescope or just throw a blanket down and lay down and stare at the sky. Choose a week or just a few nights and see how many constellations you can pick out. Find The Big Dipper, The Little Dipper, Cassiopeia, Orion, Gemini, Leo, Scorpio, ect.. Make sure you book your trip on a moonless night to improve your viewing or explore the moon itself! Turn the lights off in the house and go out onto the outdoor patio and sit back and relax looking up between the branches or you could venture out away from the house and get a full view of the night sky. |
We're always looking for extra ranch hands to help us with our chores. It doesn't matter if you have any experience or not...You're hired! Experience the thrill of the hunt. There�s a wide variety of wildlife on the ranch and surrounding government land. Please check the Nebraska Games and Parks website for more information on permits and seasons. Our Hunting Experience prices depend on your length of stay and the type of game you are hunting. Please give us a call to discuss what you are looking for in your hunting trip. We will give you an affordable experience that you will not soon forget. There are some of the biggest bucks around that come through our ranch, so get your gun, riffle, bow or musket loader ready and come on over to Down Home. | There�s a wide range of activities only a short drive away from Down Home. The history of this area can be seen in a fun and exciting way with tours at local museums or visiting Ft. Robinson State Park. If you are looking to swim, fish or water ski there�s many lakes in the area. Gamble at Saloon Number 10 where Wild Bill Hickok was shot in historic Deadwood SD. Golf at one of the best 9 hole courses in the area at Legend Butte Golf Course. Watch buffalo or bear come right up to your car. If you can't find anything you want to do then you're not trying!
